After more than 70 years, the Woodall location has closed its doors and moved operations to a new facility in Arlington.
Assistant Branch Manager Gerardo Cruz started with Continental Battery Company at Woodall in 1989 and has seen first-hand the significant growth of the company over the last 34 years. Gerry has worked many roles at Woodall, from warehouse finishing line to delivery driver to his current role as assistant branch manager. He has seen the ownership of the company change, team members come and go, and relocation of the CBS offices. But one thing has remained consistent over the years: the feeling of family.
"All the employees say they enjoy the friendship they have here together, like we're all extended family members," Branch Manager Ruben Carrillo said.
Miguel Villanueva remembers playing soccer in the Woodall branch parking lot in his 20s. He's now in his 60s and still works with the same team, now at the new Arlington location.
"I know we have consolidated or moved a lot of buildings recently, but Woodall is just different. 70 years of operations there . . . with literal blood, sweat, and tears saturated into the floors! Lots of good memories of the place, so for me it's a little bittersweet . . . but then I realize that it was the people that made that place great. It was the people that made every day special and those people are still with us, and for those that aren't, their memories endure," CEO Eric Royse said.
A special shout-out to Woodall branch leadership—Ruben Carrillo and Gerardo Cruz— for their hard work on this move, and to the entire Woodall team for their contribution to Continental's history and commitment to LEADING THE CHARGE toward our future growth:
